Traveling in Iceland, take care ❤

It's a wonderful experience to travel in Iceland but if you are on your own there are a few things to consider:

Our roads are narrow, even the main road around the country.

This sign means that asphalt ends and a gravel road is ahead.
Be sure to slow down and enter the gravel road carefully, it can be very slippery.

Single road bridge. Believe it or not, we have a few all around the country.

Slow down, let the first car to arrive at the bridge pass.

Blind spots on hills, many of those signs around the country. Slow down.

Sheeps!
Very cute but dangerous around the roads.
They can sprint across the road  to gather with friends or family,
Be patient and slow down a bit.

Horses, beautiful creatures.
Slow down when you meet them, they can be rather jumpy.

Traveling alone?
Be sure to let someone know where you are heading and when you will be back.
You will want someone to look for you if something goes wrong.

Check the forecast. The weather in Iceland can change rapidly.

This is our emergency telephone number.
Memorize it.

Look at this website:

And finally: Remember to respect and enjoy our beautiful country.
